Deen Castronovo is the drummer for Journey and he's been sentenced to 80 hours of Anger Management after a court appearance for a domestic incident.  

Kind of amazing this has been under the radar but he was arrested last month for reckless endangerment, interfering with a police report, criminal mischief and harrassment.  The woman involved is in the report as an Ex-Girlfriend... gee ya think?

Hopefully he'll get a grip on this and focus on the good stuff he does like playing for Journey.

First, the Marine above, Dakota Meyer, is NOT involved in this case but I wanted a picture of the Medal Of Honor and there he is.  Just didn't want him to in any way get confused with the crux of this story.

Have you heard of the Stolen Valor Act?  It was enacted in 2005 and makes it a Federal Crime to lie about having received a Military Medal.

Back in July of 2007 Xavier Alvarez told a meeting of people that he was a Veteran of the Marines and had received the Congressional Medal Of Honor.  None of it was true but that last part about the medal has gotten him in a lot of trouble and his case has now worked it's way up to The Supreme Court.

While there's ZERO doubt this guy holds the ultimate dirtbag award, I'm curious if you think lying about receiving a Military Medal should be protected like this or if it's best to protect free speech in this case.  That's the argument his lawyers are making that his right to lie is protected under the First Amendment.

Heavy case for sure.  So what do you think and if you think it's a crime... how do you punish this idiot?
